There are cities that belong to geography, and there are cities that belong to the interior life. This work inhabits the second realm.

A monumental structure rises from an atmosphere of dust, memory, and unfinished becoming. Part ruin, part sanctuary, the architecture evokes Babel, Jerusalem, empire, archive, and dream all at once. Its repeating arches suggest civilization’s endless attempt to order the unknown, while the dissolving edges imply that every human structure eventually returns to weather, time, and silence.

At the base of the image, a solitary goat appears almost unnoticed. Small against the vastness of the constructed world, it becomes the moral and symbolic axis of the painting: innocence moving quietly through the machinery of history.

The palette is restrained and earthen, built from warm sepia veils and smoke-like passages that allow the image to emerge slowly rather than declare itself immediately.
