The Covenant Shoreline
Short Listed top 100, Global Art League 2026
At the edge of the receding world,
we carried only each other.
The water remembered a road
the earth had almost forgotten.
Across the distance,
a solitary witness kept its vigil—
and the wounded light
did not promise safety,
only that the way forward
would appear beneath our feet.
The Covenant Shoreline inhabits the uncertain boundary between departure and arrival. Two figures move through a dreamlike coastal landscape toward an enigmatic presence across the water. Diffused light and muted colour dissolve distinctions between earth, sea, and sky, transforming the shoreline into a psychological threshold. The work considers the fragile promises that bind us—to one another, to memory, and to the possibility of continuing when the destination remains unknown.
