The Sending

L'Envoi

48x72

There comes a moment
when love
becomes blessing.

The blessing
opens the hand.

Two figures stand
where earth
enters light,
their shadows
still remembering
the soil
that formed them.

Silence
ripens into permission.

The path unfolds.

Each step
carries
the breath
of the one
who first
taught us
to remain.

To send another
is to trust
that love
continues writing
beyond the reach
of our hands.

The horizon
receives them.

The light
receives them.

And the same breath
that gathered them
now carries them
forward.

The Sending explores the final movement of mercy. If the preceding works in this series gather, witness, and accompany, this painting releases. Two figures stand at the threshold where earth dissolves into light. They stand within the living threshold where one life is entrusted to another. They inhabit the quiet moment when love relinquishes possession and becomes trust.

The luminous field unfolds through restrained shifts of temperature and atmosphere, inviting prolonged attention. Radiance gathers gradually, becoming visible only through sustained looking. Its radiance emerges gradually through restrained shifts of temperature and atmosphere, inviting prolonged attention rather than immediate certainty. Here, light extends beyond object into relationship. It is the invisible space in which one life is entrusted to another, and ultimately to the unknown.
Mercy flowers as sending. Love ripens into trust.
